Community Service Tanzania 2007
I
brought home…a new outlook on the world.
I met…many wonderful, interesting, and different people.
It was a tough moment when…it was time to leave my newfound friends
and our village in Tanzania.
I've decided…to stay involved in community service.
Students at my school should…see what they can do to benefit their
community.
In ten years I see myself…making a continual effort to help others.
“I thought that I was only going to help Tanzania, but I had no idea
how much Tanzania would benefit me. I discovered that regardless of
physical or linguistic differences, there will always be a powerful
human connection that remains. I remember playing soccer with some
of the other village teenagers when all of a sudden we seemed to
speak the same language. I don't think I’ve ever had a better
feeling than when our village organized a “Thank You Ceremony” for
our group—it was so heartwarming to see how much they appreciated
all of our hard work. My Putney program was truly a life-changing
experience.”
