The Putney Open Door Fund is a non-profit foundation whose purpose is to provide support for individuals seeking educational summer experiences who could otherwise not afford them. Participation by diverse students improves group dynamics and opportunities for learning for all involved. The Fund’s Board of Directors is committed to making the immeasurable benefits of an experience like Putney available to all students, regardless of their economic status.

The success of the Putney Open Door Fund depends on the generosity of its donors, most of whom are alumni or parents. One hundred percent of donations go directly to funding future scholarship students. Your support is greatly appreciated!

The Putney Open Door Fund generally only considers students whose parents’ combined income is less than $40,000 and who have few assets. Full and partial scholarships are awarded each year. Please note that many applications for tuition assistance are received and allocation is competitive. Students wishing to apply for aid through the fund must submit the following by February 15, 2008:

•Parents’/guardians’ most recent federal tax returns

•Narrative outlining parents’/guardians’ financial obligations and the amount of aid requested

•Completed 2008 Putney Application Form

•Two completed teacher references

•Completed Open Door Supplemental Application Form (downloadable from our website,

www.goputney.com, click on Details and Downloads, then Opportunities for Financial Aid).

•Note that the $700 deposit is waived for Open Door Fund applicants
