Welcome

It has been a glorious, sunny end of winter in Putney, and next to the shady side of the barn the last few islands of snow have almost fully melted. A couple of Putney directors have even taken a dip in the pond, and they report that the water temperature is invigorating!

Many of our programs are nearly full at this point, and we are gearing up for one of our busiest summers ever, with programs in 34 countries on 6 continents, and Excel programs in Europe, in China and at Amherst College.

We would love to hear from you if you are still considering a Putney program for this summer. Please do not hesitate to call us to discuss some of the details of our programs or to receive more information. In addition, we recently published an FAQ on our web site, which we encourage you to read by clicking here.

In this edition of “Notes from the Barn” we have included a selection of pictures that capture some of the most memorable moments from last summer. You can also find letters from two of our Excel instructors describing the ambitious goals they have set out for their programs.

This will be our last newsletter before our programs begin in late June and early July. We wish you all a wonderful summer!

Sincerely,
Jeff and Pete Shumlin
