Happy February from Putney Student Travel!

Here at the barn in Vermont we have just received our first serious snow fall.  The cold is finally here, and we have been skating up a storm on the pond out back.  We continue to enjoy our busiest enrollment season ever, outstripping any year in our 56 year history by at least 30%. We have 200+ applications in hand today that we did not have on this date last year!  In response to this unprecedented demand, we are pleased to have been able to add units of our Language Learning programs in France and Spain, Community Service programs in Tanzania, Senegal, Costa Rica, and India, a Global Awareness in Action program looking at HIV/AIDS and Health Care in South Africa, and even an Excel Oxford/Tuscany program.  Here is a link to all of Putney's dates and tuitions so you can see the full spectrum of what we have in place.

We have been amazed by how quickly even the new units are filling, so be sure to check with us to make sure the program that interests you remains available.

We've done so much work in the last few weeks that we have decided to recharge with a ski day at Stratton on Thursday, March 1st.  Bibba will be back from working on our programs in Senegal, Harry from China, Tim from India, Jeff from Paris, and the rest of us from our slideshows around the country.  We are optimistic that the big snows will be here by then.  We're closing the office that day and every last one of us will be on the mountain.  We'll include a picture in our next newsletter.  If you are in the neighborhood, come ski with us!

Elsewhere in this newsletter you'll find a piece on India, a new online community for all Veteran Program Leaders and Excel Staff, a college essay from a Global Action El Salvador participant, and some Excel Amherst staff profiles

If you have questions about any of our programs, give us a call.  We are happy to talk with you, describe the details, or put you in touch with our alumni.  Just be sure not to call on March 1st!

We hope you will join us for the summer of 2007!

Fondly,
